Standard Chartered Activate Overseas, Your ATM, debit and credit card(s) sent to you will be blocked for your added security. You will need to activate your card online or via SMS before use.
- Your mobile phone number is required to enable and disable overseas ATM cash withdrawal.
- A One-Time Password (OTP) will be sent to your mobile phone and this OTP is to be used for card activation.
- To update your mobile number, go to “Update Profile Details” by logging in to Online Banking or Standard Chartered Mobile.
- Principal cardholders will need to activate for their supplementary cards (if any).

For your security, all new, existing, replacement and renewal ATM, debit and credit cards will be disabled for overseas usage, unless:
- you have previously enabled overseas ATM cash withdrawal on your card(s), then the overseas card usage function on that card(s) will remain automatically enabled (also applies to overseas usage on renewed/replacement cards with same card number)
- you have been notified that your existing card(s) will remain automatically enabled for overseas usage
Note: Overseas usage deactivation on your credit/debit card(s) will only disable overseas ATM cash withdrawals and overseas POS magnetic stripe transactions. POS EMV chip transactions on your credit/debit card(s) are not affected.
- For enabling or disabling overseas usage via SMS, please use the mobile phone number registered with the bank.
- If you are enabling or disabling overseas usage via our website, a One-Time Password (OTP) will be sent to your mobile phone number registered with us and this OTP is required before you can proceed.
- To update your mobile number, go to “Update Profile Details” by logging in to Online Banking or Standard Chartered Mobile.
- Principal cardholders will need to enable or disable this function separately for each supplementary card (if any).
