Working at the Library

If you are:

  • a new graduate thinking about your future career
  • considering a career change
  • a library professional looking for the next step in your career
  • looking for interesting part-time or casual work.

The University Library might be for you!

It’s really varied

Our modern academic library is a dynamic and varied place to work with roles available in a wide range of areas including client services, resource and acquisitions, academic support, collection development and management, special collections, project management, and technology.

It’s a great place to work

We have a collaborative culture and support the development of our staff, which makes it a great place to work. But don’t just take our word for it, hear what some of our team members say about working here.

Do I need a library background?

No! In fact our people come from many different backgrounds, including customer service and retail, as well as from other libraries. Some are students or new graduates, others are career-changers who have leapt to the library and information world.

How do I find out more?

When we have positions available, they are advertised on the University’s career site.
