Human Nutrition covers all the areas that have an impact on health as influenced by food. It involves knowledge of food and the function of its nutrients.
Human Nutrition at Otago leads innovative learning, teaching and research focused on positive nutritional impact on society and individuals.
We are the only Human Nutrition department in New Zealand to offer a Sport and Exercise Nutrition programme together with a diverse range of courses including international nutrition and foodservice management. We are the most established dietetic educator, being the first to offer a university-based dietetics programme.
We are also the World Health Organisation collaborating centre for the Western Pacific region.
Studying with us equips you to enter health care professions, and for careers in the food and food service industries, with sporting bodies and in government and national health organisations.

Nutrition as a Postgraduate
