University Of Canterbury Parking

Parking at UC is the responsibility of the Campus Services Department and is administered by Security. Comments and questions should be addressed to Security Services in the first instance.



To park on campus staff and students will need to purchase and display one of the parking permits below. For more details on the permits, including payment options, please see the Parking Permits page.

Student parking



Students can park in student parking areas by displaying a permit or coupon.



Staff parking

  • UC staff can park in staff parking areas and Link Parking areas with a permit or coupon.

Disabled parking

  • UC has accessible parking around campus which can be used with a mobility parking permit.

Visitor parking

  • Visitors to UC can use visitor parking areas and need to display a parking coupon.

Residential parking permits

  • Available student residents of University Hall or Ilam Village. 

Bike parking

Coupons

  • Find out the cost and where to buy all-day coupons and how pay-and-display parking works.

Parking maps

  • See car parking maps – including disabled parking – bus stops and bike parking.

Other transport options

  • Sustainable options such as cycling, busing and car pooling.

Parking penalties

  • Penalties such as fines, wheel clamping or towing apply for not parking according to the statutes.

  • When parking at UC you must display the correct parking permit and pay attention to parking signs.

  • UC has electric vehicle charging stations around the campus.
