How can I transfer credit from my previous tertiary study to the University of Auckland at the point of applying?

To transfer prior study completed at another tertiary institution follow the steps below.

  1. Use the transfer credit calculator

For a guide on what transfer credit you may be eligible for, use the transfer credit calculator. Please note the results produced by the calculator are a guide only and do not guarantee that transfer credit will be awarded.
  2. Apply for admission

To apply for transfer credit, submit your Application for Admission and answer ‘Yes’ to the question regarding applying for transfer credit. This will notify us that you would like to apply for transfer credit.
  3. View your application for requirements

Usually the following will be required:
    • Your official academic thttps://banksonline.co.za/official-academic-transcript-definition/ranscript
    • Your course outline

  4. Upload all required documents

You can upload additional documents, following submission of your application, from your Application for Admission > Things you need to do.
    • Each checklist item allows only one file upload, so you will need to combine all documents into a single file for upload.
    • A certified hard copy of these documents may be required.
  5. Your faculty will assess for eligibility

Your faculty will decide on the transfer credit by assessing your qualification and course descriptions.
  6. You will be notified of the outcome

Once you have uploaded all required documents and an offer of place has been given to you, your application will be assessed for credit.

Please allow 10 – 15 working days for the assessment. You will be notified by email regarding the outcome.

You will be required to pay a non-refundable fee of NZ $85 for credit assessment.
