Massey University Innovation Complex

Massey University’s Innovation Complex is a step closer, with enabling works at the Auckland campus in preparation for construction starting next month.

From Saturday, some visitor and student parking spaces will be removed from the front of the Quad A and Atrium buildings. Some additional parking in spaces in the crescent opposite the Recreation Centre will also be removed.

It will also see the University Ave bus route redirected, with a new bus stop outside the Ferguson Bar on Kairanga Road for arriving passengers to disembark. Buses leaving the campus will start at the new bus stop but will still collect passengers at the old bus stop in front of the Atrium.

The works will result in some unavoidable disruption, including noise, additional trucks and other construction vehicles, and the displacement of a small number of student car parks in the surrounding area. Please respect any safety notices and barriers put in place and contact Operations Service Desk on ext 43434 should any issues arise.

The 9800 square metre complex is part of the University’s $120 million development plan to meet the growth in student numbers at Auckland. It will be a science innovation and research centre and house teaching and research laboratories and collaborative working space to connect the University with industry and the local community.

Alternative student parking options are currently being considered in preparation for the start of semester two.
