There are a few tasks we recommend you complete to ensure you’re best prepared for day one at university.
Complete enrolment
- Accept your offer on MyLinc to receive your Lincoln username, password and email address. SAVE THIS INFORMATION – you’ll receive these via email so store them somewhere safe because you’ll need them later.
- Confirm which courses (classes) you’ll be doing this year. Use the appropriate course planner to find the typical courses you should enrol in for your chosen qualification, and find any regulations you need to meet.
- Ask for course advice if you need help choosing courses. If you need help with your enrolment ask the Admissions and Enrolment team and find Course Advisor contact details on your course planner. They are happy to assist.
- Double-check any emails we’ve sent to see whether there’s any more important information or documentation you need to give us.
- Log into LUCAS to complete your enrolment checklist. Part of this is letting us know how you’ll pay your tuition fees. P.S. If you’re eligible, we suggest you get in touch with Studylink early to establish your entitlements.
- Remember, once all of your checklist items have a green tick in LUCAS, select the SUBMIT button to ensure you’re fully enrolled.
- To establish and print your timetable, head to our timetable tool and select the courses you’ve just enrolled in.
- Collect your Student ID Card. You’ll be emailed instructions on how to collect your card once you are fully enrolled. Your ID Card functions as your library membership card, can be used to print documents on campus and gain access to relevant buildings and services. Keep it with you at all times.
- Take part in Orientation
- Check out Orientation so you know which events are mandatory or optional.
- If you like social events, you can purchase tickets through the LU Students’ Association.
- Use the digital campus map to find your way around: www.lincoln.ac.nz/Ma
Sort your learning tools
- Ensure you know your LU username and password.
- Connect your devices to free campus wireless services by connecting to ‘eduroam’.
- GetOffice 365 for free. Download Office 365 here. You’ll get cloud services, including 1TB of storage, and access to Microsoft Office web apps like Word, Powerpoint and Excel. You can also download your copy of Office 365 to your personal device.
- See about IT help, services and resources here. If you’re unsure, find the IT Helpdesk in the library.
- Log into LEARN: https://learn.lincoln.ac.nz/ using your LU username and password. Bookmark this page as it’s your online learning environment to access course materials, resources and past exams. Get familiar with LEARN before you start classes.
- Access your Lincoln student emails. Lecturers and course coordinators will contact you by email, so you’ll need to keep an eye on this. Student email addresses are in the format [email protected] (sometimes there’s a number after your last name so check the emails we sent you after you accepted your offer to ensure you’re using the right address).
- Browse the Learning, Teaching & Library website.
- Visit CampusBooks to purchase text books, stationery and more. Located on campus, just look for the flags between Ivey and Burns buildings. Or purchase online.
- Printers are located throughout campus and you can use these by adding money to your print account at the self-service machines (we suggest you use the one in the library first so that you have help on hand should you need it).
- Professional print and copy services can be found by the Hudson building.
Keep informed and connected
