El Nilein Bank

Established in 1965, through the merger of Bank of Sudan and Credit Lyonnais Bank, El Nilein Bank later obtained a permit in 1976. Following this, the first branch was officially opened and started operations in 1977 in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.

Then, in September 2010, all traditional banking operations were converted to Islamic banking based on the principles of Islamic banking after the inclusion of Islamic Sharia principles into the regulations and laws of the traditional banking sector.

Forty glorious years of Islamic banking experience in the United Arab Emirates banking sector, we take immense pride in strengthening relations between Sudan and the United Arab Emirates being one of the first Sudanese Banks in the country.
