Ms. Basani Maluleke, BCom, LLB, MBA (Kellogg), is CEO of African Bank Ltd. since April 2018. She is also its Director. She is a Co-founder of (Kellogg) African Century Ventures. She is Chief Executive Officer at Residual Debt Services Ltd. since April 02, 2018. Ms. Maluleke has ten years of financial services experience in the areas of corporate finance, private banking and most recently, private equity. Her key skills include strategy, corporate finance, financial modelling and general management. She is a banking executive with seven years of experience in the FirstRand Group and over three years of legal experience with Edward Nathan. She was admitted as an Attorney of the High Court after serving articles at Edward Nathan and Friedland (now Edward Nathan Sonnenbergs). As a corporate finance dealmaker at RMB, she advised, structured and implemented a variety of corporate finance transactions for blue chip companies. As Head of FNB Private Clients, she crafted and executed a national growth strategy for a business with over 10,000 clients and seven offices across the country. She serves as Director at Ata Capital (Pty) Ltd. She has been an Independent Non-Executive Director of Residual Debt Services Limited since July 28, 2015. She serves as a Director of Transcend Capital (Pty) Limited, African Bank Limited, A T Kearney, C4 Suite, K2014093135, ACV Fund, K2014176899, K2014176855 and K2015219110. She served as Independent Non-Executive Director of Sephaku Holdings Limited since November 9, 2016 until October 30, 2017. She served as an Independent Non-Executive Director of Balwin Properties Limited from September 25, 2015 to October 26, 2016. She is Fellow of the African Leadership Initiative and the Aspen Global Leadership Network. Ms. Maluleke holds a B.Com in Accounting and LL.B degrees from University of Cape Town and MBA from Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University.
