Bond University Graduation

As you come to the end of your time at Bond University, you can look forward to one of life’s truly defining moments: your graduation.

The awarding of your degree is the culmination of all your hard work, dedication and determination. It’s a time to reflect on your achievements with pride and to draw inspiration from knowing that there is no limit to what you can accomplish when you put your mind to it.

It’s also a time to celebrate – with fellow classmates, teachers, mentors and friends; and most importantly, to thank your family and those who have supported you along the way.

June 2021 ceremonies

The University will be hosting Graduation ceremonies in late June (exact dates TBA). These ceremonies are for students completing studies in 211, and those graduates from 2020 who were unable to attend an earlier ceremony.

The ceremony dates, times and faculty allocations to each ceremony time will be confirmed later during semester 211. All potential graduands will be contacted by the SBC graduations team with further information throughout 211.

Venue

Due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, Bond University has held graduation ceremonies in the Basil Sellers Theatre, located on Level 3 of Building 6. Please refer your guests to information regarding the campus location and public transport options at ‘Getting to Bond University’.

Free parking is available at Bond University in the General Parking areas, with PG3, PG4 and PG8 being the most convenient (see map).

Academic dress

Graduates are required to wear the official academic dress for the award that you are graduating from. The academic dress set includes a gown, a mortarboard or bonnet, and a hood and / or stole in your Faculty/School’s colours. For more information please go to the Academic Dress Regulations (Division 8).

Please note that you will be required to walk up stairs and all academic dress is open at the front, therefore what you are wearing underneath will be visible. For this reason, business attire and comfortable shoes are highly recommended. Shorts, t-shirts, thongs (flip-flops), joggers and other casual clothing and footwear are not considered appropriate. Graduates are also welcome to wear traditional costumes. If the day is warm, you may wish to remove your jacket as the gowns are quite heavy.

Ordering and collecting academic dress

When you complete the online registration process to confirm your attendance at the ceremony, you will be asked to select the hire or purchase option for academic dress. Your academic dress will only be available for collection and fitting on the day of the ceremony. You may not collect your order before your ceremony day.

Orders and payments are managed by GFP Graduations (Email: [email protected], Tel: 1300 360 445 (International: +61 8 8154 1388).

Family and friends are welcome to attend to help you celebrate your special day and there is no charge for guest tickets.
