Auckland University Of Technology South Campus Accommodation

AUT doesn’t have student accommodation at the South Campus (Manukau), but there are lots of other options if you are planning to study at this campus.

Live in City Campus accommodation

Some of our students study at the South Campus but live in AUT student accommodation in the city – at the Wellesley Student Apartments.

Getting from the city to the South Campus

The AUT shuttle bus runs between the City and South campuses at regular times during the day (from Monday to Friday). The journey takes from 25 minutes to around 40 minutes depending on the time of day.

There are also good public transport links (bus and train) between the city centre and Manukau. Students can get discounted travel on Auckland’s public transport system.

Find out more about AUT shuttle buses and student travel discounts on our ‘Getting around AUT’ page.

AUT shuttle buses

AUT’s shuttle buses run between the City, North and South Campuses for AUT students, staff and visitors travelling with you. You may be asked to show your student or staff ID to the driver.

Shuttle buses have free wifi, ramps for wheelchair users and provide schedule updates to passengers.

Tickets and timetables

You need to buy tickets from AUT gyms (no cash accepted) before you travel – you can’t pay the driver in cash.

Other accommodation options

If you choose not to stay in AUT’s City Campus accommodation, you may need to find private accommodation instead. AUT does not check or approve any other accommodation providers – like rental houses, homestays and hostels – but we can help you get started with what to look for and how.
