Living in student accommodation is a great option – especially if you’re in your first year of study or from outside Auckland. AUT’s student accommodation is convenient and modern – live just minutes away from our City or North Campus.
What to expect
Living on campus is about more than just the room. You become part of a community from the moment you arrive, with opportunities to make social connections and to develop leadership and life skills that will help you succeed at AUT.
You’ll benefit from the sense of belonging and support that comes from living in a close-knit and diverse community – your home away from home.
Regular events during the year
Our Residential Life programme involves activities and events during the year. These encourage you to interact with others, look after your health and wellbeing, and strengthen the residential community.
For example, the Battle of the Bridge sports competition sees AUT’s two student hostels compete against each. Other events include game and quiz nights like ‘Grocery Bingo’, ‘Nacho Nights’, stress workshops and group outings.
Live close to useful campus resources
You can use campus resources easily – the library, computer labs, gym and other services are all nearby.
Support and help when you need it
Students who live in AUT accommodation have a high academic success rate because they’re part of a supportive community that’s connected to support and advice services.
Our Residential Assistants can help direct you to the right person or service if you have personal issues. You can join a community study group and meet other people doing the same papers.
Just bring your personal belongings
Because the cost of student accommodation includes furniture, power, water and internet, all you need to bring is your personal belongings.
