Research support clinics are offered to Faculty of Health and Environmental Sciences postgraduate students and research staff who are planning on undertaking research. Clinics are an opportunity to discuss any research ideas, funding opportunities, data management or analysis, or any issues relating to developing research with Māori and Pacific.
Clinic topics
Led by the Faculty Research Office, in partnership with the Department of Biostatistics and Epidemiology, research support clinics on the following topics are available:
- Quantitative Study Design and Biostatistics: will provide advice on the quantitative study design, data collection and data analysis plans.
- Research Development and Funding: will provide advice and information on developing a research idea, project management tips and seeking research funding.
- Other: to request advice on a topic not already covered by the above options.
Research ethics
These clinics do not provide help with ethics or troubleshooting software – if you would like help with ethics, AUTEC offers workshops, seminars and drop-in appointments.

Who should attend and why
One-hour appointments are an opportunity to talk to a research academic/biostatistician or research manager/specialist about your existing or planned research project on areas in which you would like more information, support, or advice.
If you are a new postgraduate research student planning your thesis or dissertation, you are particularly welcome and we encourage you to attend with your supervisor.
Appointments are limited to one hour, with follow-up appointments when necessary. Check the ‘Book a clinic appointment’ section to book your appointment.
