Online programmes for offshore international students

AUT’s mission is to provide great graduates and exceptional learning experiences for all our students. Our focus is on providing the best possible on-campus and off-campus learning for 2020 and beyond.

For international students currently offshore who are unable to study on-campus due to border restrictions caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, there are some AUT programmes you can study online with us in 2020.

You can progress your qualification now without needing a student visa to study from your home country.

Pathways to degree study for international students

If you are an international student and you don’t meet the requirements for direct entry into an AUT programme, you can study English or take a foundation course here to meet those requirements.

Language courses at AUT International House

AUT International House is an English language school next to the AUT City Campus. It is part of AUT and offers a range of qualifications, including GIE – the AUT university entrance and preparation programme.

Foundation programmes

If you don’t have the academic qualifications needed for direct entry into an AUT programme, you can enrol in a foundation programme.

If you successfully complete the foundation programme and the get the required grades, you are guaranteed entry into an appropriate AUT programme.

AUT Certificate in Foundation Studies

This course is delivered by UP International College, which has one of the best NZ records in international education.

Auckland Foundation Year

The Auckland Foundation Year (AFY) is delivered by Taylors College, a leading university preparation specialist in New Zealand and Australia.

The AFY prepares international students for entry in undergraduate programmes at AUT.

Interested in studying a bachelor’s degree? AUT offers a range of certificate and diploma qualifications that can also be used to gain entry to AUT’s bachelor degrees. For details visit your chosen study area on the AUT website.
