Al Baraka Islamic Bank is attributed to be the pioneer of Islamic Banking in Pakistan. It has been operating in the country since 1991 as branch operations of Al Baraka Islamic Bank Bahrain. During this period of over two decades in the country, the bank effectively developed and sustained its identity as one of the pioneers in providing Shariah compliant banking products and services.
Al Baraka Banking Group is a Bahraini banking corporation based in Manama, Bahrain. It was formed in 2002 in Manama, Bahrain. The company is listed on the Bahrain Stock Exchange and NASDAQ Dubai, the group offers retail, corporate and investment banking and treasury services in accordance with the principles of the Shari’a in 15 countries.It is the third-largest banking group in Bahrain with a total assets of $17.2 bn in 2012.
Al Baraka Banking Group B.S.C. (“ABG”) is licensed as an Islamic wholesale bank by the Central Bank of Bahrain and is listed on Bahrain Bourse and Nasdaq Dubai stock exchanges. It is a leading international Islamic banking group providing its unique services in countries with a population totaling around one billion. It is rated A+ (bh) (long term) / A2 (bh) (short term) on the national scale by Islamic International Rating Agency and by Standard & Poor’s at BB (long term) / B (short term).
Al Baraka offers retail, corporate, treasury and investment banking services, strictly in accordance with the principles of the Islamic Shari’a. The authorized capital of ABG is US$ 2.5 billion.
